Natural and Finished Teak

Some of our teak comes with a “pre-weathered” with a silver-grey finish. This finished teak has been vigorously brushed to obtain a textured, seasoned finish and a water-resistant protective coat is applied. This process protects the wood against the weather, UV rays and various stains such as wine, coffee or oil and therefore requires little maintenance.

Over time, the protective finish applied will begin to deteriorate. If you notice your teak is becoming less water resistant it may be time to apply a protective finish using our Teak Shield solution.

We recommend thoroughly cleaning your natural teak with our Teak Cleaner before applying our Teak Shield. Full instructions for this process can be found here.

For regular maintenance of your natural & finished teak follow the instructions below:

Precautions: Do not use a pressure washer or abrasive cleaners.

1. Brush off loose dirt using a soft cloth

2. (When necessary) Use a soft cloth/brush & water to rinse off remaining dirt.

3. Air dry

4. When not in use protect pieces with our fitted furniture covers.

Storage: Dry/covered storage is recommended during the winter months. Use a fitted protective cover to shield your furniture from harsh elements.
