• We recommend that porcelain items are hand washed using non-abrasive cloths and mild cleaners. • Porcelain trays and bowls which are glazed in the contact area are food safe. • Porcelain items have a consistent color throughout the material and due to the materials, tends to be a more pure white color than ceramic. Porcelain, even unglazed, is smoother to the touch than ceramic. Porcelain is a denser material, but lighter in weight than ceramic and less porous. Due to the material density and higher temperature firing, porcelain is more durable than ceramic or stoneware. Light can shine through very fine porcelain. • We recommend the use of flameless candles with porcelain products. Flameless candles are easy to maintain, cause no mess or fuss and are safer than traditional candles with open flames. Flameless candles provide the same ambient light, and often with the benefit of a timer. However, porcelain candle holders can also be used with traditional tealight candles. If using traditional candles with porcelain products, please do not leave lit candles unattended and be aware that porcelain will become extremely hot. Real flame candles should only be used on fireproof surfaces, away from other objects, and not around children.
